We all wear masks sometimes. Always for different purposes. We’re made to believe that wearing masks is fake or misleading. But sometimes we need that extra bit of confidence or strength, or maybe just need to hide for a minute while we’re figuring shit out. It’s not the wearing of the mask that’s working against us. It’s not knowing that you’re wearing the mask. Being aware that you’re wearing the mask and giving yourself permission and compassion might be the help you need sometimes.

You guys, I fucked up. For a large number of years of my life I’ve been mistreating a very important part of my psyche… my ego.
Our culture has taught us that our egos are terrible things. But in reality, all your ego wants to do is keep your ass alive! Your ego is not your enemy. You need your ego to be an active part of your team.
Now, you don’t want your ego to drive the bus, but you definitely want him ON the bus. 🚌 Carl Jung emphasized the importance of a healthy ego, and I believe it’s important to have a healthy relationship with your ego.
So if you’ve experienced ego death, or if you killed your ego, ☠️ RESURRECT THAT BITCH! If you got your ego locked in a cage, let his ass out! Let him cook!
That doesn’t make you exempt from accountability, but it does give you the freedom to be who you want to be. The freedom to welcome your shadow into your life as part of the WHOLE you.
